Student leadership at Brize Norton Primary School is a vibrant and essential part of who we are. It gives children real responsibility, a meaningful voice, and the confidence to shape their school community. Every leadership role reflects our core values: We SHINE for ourselves and each other with kindness—to Strive, Help, Inspire, Nurture, and Excel. These values guide how our pupils lead, support others, and grow as individuals.

Our Head Students embody the SHINE ethos in everything they do. They welcome visitors, represent the school at events, and model kindness and excellence for younger pupils. Working closely with them, the Headteacher’s Personal Assistant takes on genuine organisational responsibilities, learning to strive for high standards while helping the school run smoothly.

The School and Community Council ensures every child’s voice is heard. Representatives gather ideas, discuss improvements, and work with staff to inspire positive change. This teaches pupils how democracy works and nurtures a sense of belonging and responsibility.

Play is central to our school identity, so our Play Leaders and Sports and Play Council help create safe, inclusive, and joyful playtimes. They support younger children, organise games, and help maintain our OPAL Platinum‑level environment—leading with kindness and nurturing confidence in others.

Our Anti‑Bullying Ambassadors champion respect and compassion. They help ensure everyone feels safe, valued, and supported, showing what it means to help and inspire through everyday actions.

Finally, our House Captains motivate their teams, celebrate achievements, and encourage pupils to excel together. They strengthen friendships across year groups and build a strong sense of community pride.
