The Junior Citizens Trust has been in existence since 1991 and is offered free of charge to every year 6 state pupil in Oxfordshire. Each year approximately 5000 children take part in the safety activities provided by the Junior Citizens Trust and partners.
On Tuesday morning the Falcons travelled to Oxford to take part in the Junior Citizens experience. They thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour visit which placed them in 8 interactive scenarios dealing with a variety of situations from a river rescue and internet safety to recognising potential dangers in their own homes.
They were all encouraged to make decisions, learning a range of life skills along the way, which focussed upon how to keep themselves safe whilst potentially helping others who may be in difficulty or distress. They were all given the opportunity to make a 999 call. They were a credit to the school!
