Nightingales had a fantastic day out at the Woodstock Museum. We began by exploring toys from the past in their workshop, including playing with toys children had in Victorian times, talking about the resources and materials these would have been made with, then making our own peg dolls.

We all enjoyed our lunch before having a run around outside in the autumn sunshine.

After this we looked around the museum exhibits. Children particularly liked the Victorian room where they were able to try on clothing, the dinosaur room and making their names with runes.

A big thank you to museum staff who were so friendly and informative.  The whole day was pitched just right for our children and supported the learning we have been doing in class.  I would highly recommend this as a family day out, I am sure children would love to go back and show parents around and discover more as we could not possibly look at everything in our time today.  The museum also had a lovely shop and cafe.
